Edward Norton in a face-off with Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) in Red Dragon

Red Dragon marks the return of Anthony Hopkins to his Oscar-winning role as Dr. Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter in the prequel to Silence of the Lambs. Formerly adapted to the screen as Manhunter by director Michael Mann, Red Dragon revisits Hannibal Lecter's macabre fascination with murder and his dark psychological innuendos. In the horrifying opening sequences, we are introduced to FBI investigator Will Graham (Edward Norton), who succeeds in capturing Hannibal but must live with several inside-out scars. A few years later, Lecter is seen in a dark asylum and Graham has retired from the bureau. But the appearance of a new serial killer nicknamed the Tooth Fairy (Ralph Fiennes), who shatters mirrors and uses the shards to murder entire families, makes Graham's former boss assign him to the case. But the key to Tooth Fairy lies in Hannibal's hands.

Director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour movies) has made a seamless leap from action comedy. He delivers a psychological thriller with the best cast of Oscar winners and nominees around. Norton is an especially good choice to partner Hopkins in his farewell to this signature role, while Fiennes delivers a monstrous performance as the handsome killer. His words "I am the dragon" will ring in your ears for days.
