Fans of the oh-so-fine Ralph Fiennes will have to bunker down with their videos of The English Patient. Perhaps still smarting from those vicious reviews for The Avengers, the British actor is taking a year off from film work to strut another hour or so upon the stage, reports The Express, a British newspaper. Fiennes, whose brother Joseph played the immortal playwright in the
Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love, will appear in the Bard's Richard II and Coriolanus. Before taking this cinema timeout, Fiennes the Elder wrapped three period pieces to tide us over: Onegin, directed by sister Martha and co-starring his real-life love Francesca Annis; A Taste of Sunshine for Mephisto director István Szabó; and Graham Greene's The End of the Affair, with
Julianne Moore and Stephen Rea, and helmed by Neil Jordan (The Butcher Boy).
