Mama Fiennes' last novel sees print
It's going on six years since Jini Fiennes passed away from breast cancer, and her final novel has finally been published, thanks in part to the efforts of her famous brood. The Fiennes family is shaping up to be the Kennedy's of higher entertainment -- film stars Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List, The English Patient) and Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love) and filmmaker/producer Sophie Fiennes (Eugene Onegin) are all the offspring of the novelist, whose works are published under her maiden name of Jennifer Lash. The new novel, Blood Ties, was published by Bloomsbury, and has been receiving no small amount of critical acclaim.
According to Booklist, "Lash's novel is a complicated and thought-provoking look at the awful strength of apathy versus the redeeming qualities of horror and integrity." The book is currently available in hardcover from amazon.com.
